# About Jackson Serafim

> Backend developer and problem solver.

I am Jackson Serafim, a software engineer based in Brazil. I work mostly on backend web applications: HTTP APIs, background jobs, data models, and the infrastructure that keeps them running. You may also find me listed as Jackson Serafim, which is the name behind this domain.

Day to day I design and maintain services in TypeScript and other backend stacks, review code, and help teams decide what to build now and what to leave for later. I care about systems that stay easy to reason about after the people who wrote them have moved on.

I prefer boring, well-understood tools over novelty, small changes that ship over large rewrites, and measuring before optimizing. When a decision is unclear I write down the options and the trade-offs so the team can revisit it later.

Outside of work I read about distributed systems and programming languages, tinker with my Vim setup, and drink more coffee than I should.
